Heredity – Science

Genes, Chromosomes and DNA are all linked for the purpose of what they are within an organism.   Chromosomes are structures found in the nucleus of cells that carry long pieces of DNA.  DNA is the material that holds the genes.  DNA is the molecule that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism, which DNA also helps maintain and form physical characteristics. Characteristics and traits are passed down through your whakapapa. Genes are responsible for producing the proteins that run through our body.  All humans have 46 chromosomes found in their bodies, 23 chromosomes are inherited from each parent.

Static Images

In English we have been doing and learning about Static Images. Static images are literally visual images that do not move. They include greeting cards, posters, slides, photographs, paintings, compact disc covers, comics, cartoons, charts, collages, models, dioramas, newspapers, and print advertisements.

maths

In Maths we have been learning about Rounding Decimals. I use the rhyme – 5 or more raise the score, 4 or less let it rest.

Round to 2 d.p

First i circle the second digit after the decimal point, then you underline the digit next to the one you circled. Then i use the rhyme. If the underlined digit is 5 or more then you raise the digit that is circled. So heres my example.

4.638 – I have to round the second number from the decimal place, so that would be 3 and then underline the number 8. If the number 8 is 5 or more then i will raise the number 3. So then that means my answer is 4.64.

Kia ora, my name is Jodi or most likely known as jojo or jodz, i am 13 years old and I go BOIC(Bay of island college)I am proud to be maori, and my parents are Amy and Kyren. I am the middle child, I have two older sisters (Samari and Manaia) and i have two younger brothers (Te Arepa and Rehutai) I like going out with my friends, I like sleeping ,eating, looking after my baby brother, swimming, hanging out with my cousins, watching tik tok and movies. I hate it when my brother is screaming for no reason, and I also dislike when people make a mess and don’t clean it up, and I really don’t like it when my family takes my phone charger out of my room without asking. I like it when I can stay home and look after my baby brother(not Api) I also like playing netball and doing waka ama. I’ve been doing waka ama for a few years now and I have gained a lot of confidence in doing it, im very close with the girls I do it with. And Thanks for listening.
